Leading AFB Scientists to Chair AChemS Annual Meeting Symposium

St. Charles, MO, October 1, 2013 – The Association for Chemoreception Sciences (AChemS) has announced the selection of a symposium chaired by AFB International Director of Basic Research Nancy Rawson, Ph.D., and Behavioral Scientist Susan Jojola, Ph.D. at the AChems 36th Annual Meeting. The symposium is entitled “Behavioral insights into food selection and flavor preference in domestic and wild animals.” It is designed to improve understanding of behavioral cues of flavor perception and preference in mammals, and to enhance the translation of this knowledge to improve the health and well being of domestic and wild animals. The AChemS Annual Meeting is scheduled for April 9-12, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, FL, USA. Rawson’s work in taste and olfaction and Jojola’s work in animal behavior is leading to better understanding of companion animal flavor preference and innovation in AFB palatant design.
