Announcing the New Whitepaper: Kibble Size and its Impact on Feline Palatability
We are pleased to announce our latest whitepaper, “Kibble Size and its Impact on Feline Palatability,” which provides in-depth insights into the preferences of cats regarding kibble size. This study builds on prior research that determined the “disc” shape to be the most palatable for cats. Our latest findings analyze how different sizes of this disc shape affect feline preference, with variables controlled to ensure precise results. Key factors such as moisture content, premium coatings, and uniform testing conditions are documented, offering valuable guidance for cat food manufacturers seeking to improve their product appeal.
This whitepaper identifies the optimal kibble sizes and introduces methodologies, including Nose-In-BowlSM evaluations and detailed texture analysis. Our research demonstrates that cats did not show a statistical preference for the larger kibble in paired preference or consumption tests, however when considering attraction, sustained interest, and handling, cats did tend to choose the larger kibble. AFB’s comprehensive research and expertise are designed to help our customers innovate and enhance their cat food products.
Download the whitepaper today to explore these findings and learn how you can improve the palatability of your cat food offerings, ensuring greater satisfaction for felines and consumers.
